Mattia Massolini was born in 1981 in Pavia (IT),he lives in Florence between 2001 and 2006 collaborating with different bands playing swing and gypsy jazz, in 2008 he moved to Brussels where he began to study double bass classical at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, meanwhile collaborates with "Too Much and the white nots" and others Belgian songwriters, with "Stingo" group of Folk Fusion and collaborates with various orchestras in Belgium and
in France (ONB, BPhO).His interest in improvisation manifests itself in dance-contact jams in Brussels, then he meets artists who will change his vision and his approach to improvisation: Michel Massot, Ernst Glerum, Jon Rose, Seijiro Murayama, Jean-Luc Guillonet. He collaborated with some differents free impro collectives as collectif P.I.L.S, Lamaphi, BIC, Bubble Dance. Actual member of the impro trio MA.MA.AND with Andres Navarro and Marcello Giannandrea.
