Cyril SIMON, cellist with the Akhtamar string quartet, performs regularly throughout Europe, as well as touring the United States (New York), South Korea, Lebanon and Armenia. A lover of chamber music, particularly the cello, he is a founding member of the TetraCelli cello quartet, with whom he recorded his first album. Alongside his career as a chamber musician, Cyril passes on his passion by teaching at the Montigny-Le-Tilleul Academy and the La Louvière Conservatoire. Cyril SIMON was taught by Frédéric Borsarello, Jean-Marie Gamard and Marie Hallynck at the Brussels Royal Conservatoire.

His training as a quartet player has enabled him to work alongside the greatest quartet masters, notably the Artemis Quartet at the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth.

In 2021, Cyril won 3rd prize in the International Johannes Brahms Competition in Austria with the Akhtamar Quartet. Cyril plays a 1924 F. Vial cello.
