« From the abyss were born Erebos and dark Night.
And Night, pregnant after sweet intercourse with Erebos, gave birth to Aether and Day. »
Hesiod – Theogony
This is a ritual in which one will journey back in time, wandering in silence in the aisles of the Bibliotheca Wittockiana and hear a song of the memory rising among its illuminated hosts, the fragile glow of ink and leaf. Along the descent, one may experience visions of ancient forsaken libraries, the darkness of a slave ship’s hold, or the reminiscence of an immemorial forest thrown into darkness, from where bodies, ashes, leaves, and mold rise from the soil… as well as scents so old, we may have forgotten them.
Through the intimate and sensory dramaturgy of Lisa Goldberg, the sonic & talismanic alchemy of Michaël Grébil Liberg’s soundscapes and his Øscuråtronics project, the audience is invited to let themselves be haunted by dreams, obscurity, the ephemeral dialogue between a place and a musical and sensorial ritual in search of a possible truth, humid and troubled, dormant in our cells needing only a spark to be brought to life..
A hymn that still resonates in the depths of the black earth…
